Grenada (Bradt Travel Guides)

Written by Caribbean based writer and photographer Paul Crask this new thoroughly updated third edition of Bradt's Grenada Carriacou and Petite Martiniue is the only standalone guide available to this alluring Caribbean destination With insider knowledge of the islands from luxurious villas and resorts to pastoral villages and mountain trails Bradt's Grenada Carriacou and Petite Martiniue is rich in detail local colour and practical information and offers detailed accommodation dining and activities listings as well as the author's own take on how to maximise your stayWhether you are into sailing scuba diving wrecks and reefs kayaking through mangrove forests hiking mountain trails 'jumping up' at car. Pretty good guide book as far as covering what there is to see and do Only 4 stars because it lacks detailed directions to things like trail heads beaches points of interest etc with the roads all being small and poorly marked this book wasn t much help actually getting to the cool locations it tells you about Having said that between this book the maps that are supplied by the car rental companies and the house we rented and stopping to ask the very friendly people of Grenada for help we were able to get around and find everything just fine

At accommodation and dining options scenic Grenada offers a perfect blend of traditional island life with modern Caribbean livingGrenada is a tri island nation famed for its nutmeg and cocoa sailing regattas jaw dropping beaches and strong cultural traditions The main island Grenada has a tall spine of forested mountain ridges surrounded by rivers waterfalls and farmlands and the scenic coastline is replete with secluded bays and anchorages To the north at the southern tip of the Grenadines island chain Carriacou and Petite Martiniue are tranuil and beautiful Noted for traditions of Big Drum Dance and boat building both islands enjoy deserted beaches and coral reefs and offer a warm and friendly welco. We enjoyed reading this book on our trip to Grenada Great insights and wonderful history The author was spot on

This book is a bit outdated in some tourist topics, but all I could find specifically regarding Grenada. There is a great history of the island and general information on Grenada.

With a lack of final destination signs this books description of getting to points of interest was invaluable!!!!! It may sound an odd start to a review but without being able to access points of interest you end up making incorrect judgemen

Although we bought this before our qll inclusive holiday in Grenada and so will spend most of the time in the resort we found this very informative, giving a great insight into what we can expect on the island , it's customs and history, and what most to ensure we see before coming home. Good value!
