    Some useful insights here and as you would expect a lot of edifying material from the Church Fathers Two of the polemical chapters 'The Angry God of Anselm' and 'St Augustine Orthodoxy' were somewhat less interesting and ultimately left me unconvinced but it was still a good read The sermons at the end of the book were a welcome change of pace

    This is basically Archimandrite Sergius's spirituality class in book form and it is a wonderful little series of essays and sermons on the spiritual life It is one of the most applicable works of eastern orthodoxy theology I've come across for lay and monastic in a while He provides and explains the importance of a prayer rule uite clearly I highly recommend this book to all orthodox christians
